Thamma Box Office Day 3: Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna’s Film Crosses ₹55 Crore Mark

Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna’s latest film Thamma has continued its strong run at the box office as it completes three days in theatres. Directed by Amar Kaushik and produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films, the movie marks another chapter in the studio’s expanding horror-comedy universe. Released on the festive occasion of Diwali, Thamma has managed to pull audiences to theatres in large numbers, especially in major cities across India.

The film opened with an impressive start, collecting around ₹24 crore on its first day. The strong opening was driven by holiday footfalls, Ayushmann’s loyal fanbase, and the curiosity around the film’s unique theme that mixes supernatural elements with comedy. However, the film witnessed a drop in earnings on the second day, recording around ₹18.6 crore, followed by a further dip on Sunday (Day 3), when it collected approximately ₹12.5 crore. With this, Thamma has managed to earn a total of ₹55 crore in India within just three days of release, while the worldwide gross has crossed the ₹70 crore mark, according to early trade reports.

Audience response to the film has been mixed but largely positive. Many viewers have praised the humor, Ayushmann’s quirky performance, and Rashmika’s charming screen presence. The film’s vibrant visuals and festive vibe have also been appreciated, making it a family entertainer for the holiday season. On the other hand, critics have pointed out that the story follows a familiar formula seen in previous horror-comedies, which could limit its long-term impact at the box office.

Despite the minor decline in daily collections, Thamma continues to perform well in multiplex circuits and urban centres such as Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, and Bengaluru. Trade analysts suggest that the film’s performance during the weekdays will determine whether it turns into a major hit or settles for moderate success. Since the film does not face heavy competition this week, it has a good opportunity to maintain steady earnings.

Being part of Maddock’s Horror-Comedy Universe, Thamma carries forward the legacy of films like Stree and Bhediya, both of which received strong audience support. The film also hints at future crossovers within this cinematic world, keeping fans excited about upcoming instalments.

Overall, Thamma has made a promising start at the box office, crossing the ₹50 crore mark in just three days. The next few days will be crucial in deciding the film’s fate, but given its festive timing, strong performances, and brand value, it stands a fair chance of joining Ayushmann Khurrana’s list of successful releases.
